PAE School Council
Dear Park Avenue Elementary Families, Staff, and Community Members,
Park Avenue Elementary School is seeking parents, guardians, staff members, and community representatives to serve on our School Council. This is a wonderful opportunity to partner with school leadership, share your perspectives, and help shape the future of our school.
In Massachusetts, every public school is required to have a School Council under Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 71, Section 59C. The School Council is a representative, school-based committee that works collaboratively with the principal to support continuous school improvement and promote student success.
The purpose of the School Council is to advise the principal on matters including:
- The development and implementation of the School Improvement Plan
- The annual school budget
- School policies related to student conduct and learning
- Strategies to increase family and community engagement
- Other issues that support student achievement and the overall success of the school
The School Council provides an opportunity for families, educators, and community members to work together in a spirit of collaboration. Members bring diverse perspectives and ideas while helping ensure that decisions are made with the best interests of our students at the forefront.
We are looking for individuals who are interested in:
- Supporting the success of all students
- Sharing ideas and constructive feedback
- Working collaboratively with school staff and families
- Attending approximately four to six meetings throughout the school year
Whether you are a parent, guardian, staff member, or community partner, your voice is important. By serving on the School Council, you can play an active role in helping Park Avenue Elementary continue to grow and thrive.
